Supply Chain Fundamentals: Plan, Source, Make and Deliver

Supply Chain Fundamentals: Plan, Source, Make and Deliver

Supply chain is often treated as a warehouse problem when it is really an end-to-end flow of material, money and information. This session uses the SCOR framework to give you a shared map of that flow, and shows where cost, delay and risk actually accumulate.

  • By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

    • Describe the SCOR model (Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, Return) and apply it to your own operation
    • Identify the three flows in a supply chain and where each one typically breaks
    • Calculate and interpret the core supply chain metrics: OTIF, inventory turns, cash-to-cash cycle
    • Recognise the bullwhip effect and the practices that reduce it

This program is organized by the Academy of Professionals Malaysia (APM).

Features:

  • The SCOR model as a common language (10 min)
  • Material, information and financial flows - and their failure points (12 min)
  • Core metrics: OTIF, fill rate, inventory turns, cash-to-cash (13 min)
  • The bullwhip effect demonstrated with a simple numeric example (10 min)
  • Resilience: dual sourcing, buffers and supplier visibility + Q&A (15 min)
    • A SCOR-based process map template
    • A supply chain metrics definition sheet with calculation formulas
    • A supplier risk screening checklist
